Information for students regarding exam results and recoursing


The Post Results Service operates after the results have been published where a concern exists about an awarded grade which is significantly out of line with expectations. West Lothian Council schools will only submit requests on the basis of strong evidence. Requests will not be submitted on compassionate grounds for the Post Results Service. The school requires written consent from a parent/carer and pupil to authorise a post results service. Please note a marking review can result in an increase or a decrease in the awarded grade.


The final decision to submit the Post Results Service Request will be taken by the Head Teacher.

  • Post-results Services open on results day: Tuesday 7th August 2018
  • Recoursing days including requests for Priority Marking with Mrs Bleach and Mrs Fleming are;

Tuesday 7th August 2018 13.00 - 14.00 Priority Marking - 

(School leavers only – Must have proof that the candidate holds a current conditional university/college offer.)

Wednesday 8th August 2018 10.00 – 11.00 5H1 and 5H2

Wednesday 8th August 2018 11.00 – 12.00 5D1 and 5D2

Wednesday 8th August 2018 12.00 – 13.00 5C1 and 5C2

Closing dates for submitting requests:


  • Priority marking review requests must be submitted by 17 August 2018. Please note that Priority Marking Review Requests will be not be submitted unless there is proof that the candidate holds a current conditional university or college offer.


  • Marking review and clerical check requests must be submitted in writing to Mrs Bleach  by Friday 24th August 2018.


No further requests can be made after these dates.
