Students Attend Play Unified Conference
Chris Tweedie, Nicole Hutchinson, Jono McCulloch and Morag Godden attended the Play Unified Training Summit in Ratho Climbing Centre on Tuesday 7 March 2017.
This Training Summit was event managed by the Special Olympics Great Britain Team, Youth Sports Trust and Scottish Disability Sport. The purpose of this Play Unified Conference is to develop potential young leaders and empower them with new leadership skills. These students will now be challenged with bringing together young people with or without a disability through sport and educational programmes at Deans CHS. The school will be granted funding to rollout their programme.
If anyone has any inspirational ideas then let Mrs Coulter know. The group is meeting on Thursday after school to discuss and plan time frame, etc. £500 was allocated per school, so quite a significant amount of cash available!
Well done to the students involved, who also met medal winners Katy Gray – Para Olympic Swimmer/Athlete Mentor and Andrew - Special Olympics.
