EMA forms and information for students is now available from the school office. Please note - EMA is awarded by age and not stage so there may be some students in S3 who are eligible. The criteria is - 'For the 2016/2017 academic year, students born between 1st March 1997 and 28th February 2001 will be able to apply provided their household income is under threshold'.

The Big Bang - S2 Science Students
A group of Science students from S2 attended 'The Big Bang', a STEM competition at West Lothian College. They cpmpeted against students from other West Lothian schools. Garden Show Success
The Royal Horticultural Society asked us to make a pop-up garden as part of Gardening Scotland's 'Greening Grey Britain' competition. DCHS Students rose to the challenge with the help of Mrs Clark, Mr Steele, the Eco club and a fair few other staff, as well as most importantly, Dougal Philip from New Hopetoun Garden Centre. Physical Education & School Sport Committee
In 2015/16, the school's very own Physical Education and School Sport (PESS) committee was set up. The group of highly motivated students are working to improve the sporting experience that the students receive at DCHS. Soul Destroyers Win Battle of Bands Heat
Our in house and resident Soul Band, The Soul Destroyers, entered The Bathgate Music Festival Battle of the Bands on Friday evening. S4 Enterprise and Employability Day
Our S4 Enterprise and Employability day was a great success, involving 27 local and national employers who worked with a group of up to 6 students to complete a series of tasks to enhance their employability skills. This year the brief was to bid for the contract of converting the school into a 5 star hotel, restaurant and spa.

Students Win Silver Gilt Award for Pallet Garden
Students took part in the Royal Horticultural Society's Pallet Garden competition at Gardening Scotland last week and won a Silver Gilt award for their pallet garden, which is one award below a gold. For their first year competing in the competition this was an amazing achievement and the students really enjoyed it!

Spring Fling a Huge Success!
The Music department had its first ever Spring Fling fundraiser at Seafield Bowling Club to raise money for the department and for Marie Curie Nurses.
